This expression spends a period of its maturation in toasted oak casks which has a beautiful effect on the final produce.

The aroma is sweet, with notes of toffee, vanilla, honey, sea salt and orchard fruits. The palate is smooth but robust, with notes of toasted oak, honey, sea salt, black pepper and apple, before a soft finish of dry smoke, apple and honey.

Whilst this is certainly a Talisker with its maritime and peppery profile, it is a more approachable expression than its 10-year-old more aggressive sibling. A great introduction to a fine and unique distillery.
